Robots-1: What You Need to Build Your Robot From Scratch

In this article I tried to fine-tune and simplify this interesting science, which lies in its complexity and its use of many branches of engineering in its industry, such as mechanics, electricity, automatic control and others.

What is Android?

Robot, robot or automatic machine are all terms we call this intelligent system which is used to serve and facilitate human life.
Not only does the human shape take shape in the arms, legs and head, but it is the name of any machine with an intelligent system that controls it, such as the systems that operate on their own by means of automatic programming or systems that we control manually by means of a wired or Wireless or even through smart phones or from satellites.

Come with me to my room to see my air cooler. Did you know that the radiator is actually a robot. How?!

The air cooler is an intelligent system that is set at the desired temperature. It starts by sensing the temperature of the room and comparing it to the temperature it enters. It starts to turn the cooling pump on or off according to the temperature difference between the preset temperature and the current temperature of the room.

We are now in front of an intelligent, metaphorical system that can be considered a robot and a static robot that does not move.

There are two main types: Mobile Robots and Fixed Robots. We are talking about mobile robots because they are important in our world. When we talk about movement, we have two ways of moving; either on legs In mechanical and software simulation of movements of all arthropods, or on wheels such as automobiles.

The mechanical design of these systems is easy to implement with any available materials and with minimal calculations, without addressing the intricacies of them and the laws and theories of mechanics.

Robot Building System:
Is briefly what the factory requires to know to be able to build a robot on its own, divided into three sections:

Mechanical system
Electrical system and connections
Control System

We conclude that we must acquire skills in mechanical design to implement the various motion systems and materials required to implement this design and control skills in this system through various means such as microcontrollers, microprocessors, or even PLC programmable controllers, Specific to achieve the task required, which requires us to know the methods of electrical conductivity.

Common materials and components
Since the most important problems facing this type of industry is that there are no stores that serve their own manufacturers of robots and if the materials are available at high prices, so we circumvented and resorted to the synthesis of our needs with materials from the surrounding environment available.

In our talk about the most important raw materials we will resort to the lowest price and the highest efficiency and operating from the experience of practical in the implementation and design and supervision of various projects from the reality of the Arab market in general and in the Egyptian market in particular.

Aluminum profiles

They are usually used in aluminum industry workshops such as kitchens, windows, etc. These sectors take square, rectangular or circular shapes in different sizes and lengths and are cut according to the use and design to be executed.
It is easy to assemble its sections in regular shapes such as quadrilateral, hexagonal or even three-dimensional shapes such as cubes, pyramid shapes, etc., and its main use here is in the manufacture of the structure of the robot or as we say ( Chassis).

Artilon

Who among us did not break his toys when he was a child? Do you remember those plastic cars that we always broke to get out the engine, gears and others? Do you remember those white gears?
If you remember it, you know that you knew the Artilon material in advance. It is the white material made of the gears. It is a solid hardness, so it does not break when it collides with something, but it leaves an impression like soft plastic.

This material comes to us in cylindrical shapes with different diameters and makes gears or other mechanical parts and is operated - formed - through lathe workshops.

Fibreboard

The word fiber means fibers, and those fibers can be of different materials; such as carbon fiber, wood fiber and various metal fibers. The most abundant, the cheapest and the most efficient in our robotic world is the "bakelite", one of the types of fibers used mainly in the industrial isolation of machines in factories such as insulation of electricity, humidity and water.
But here we use them as a base for the robot. This flat space allows us to put and assemble the other mechanical parts on top of them freely and also to use them to make some pieces in the different mechanical parts of the robot.

These panels come in dark brown and thickness ranging from 3 millimeters to 15 millimeters or more.

The Wood
Although wood is one of the easiest materials to manufacture and assemble, its problems are numerous in the industry so I personally do not like it, but it can be used in the work of gears, robot bases or even the complete structure of the robot.

But the most prominent defects are affected by the collisions and humidity and also over time and use the expansion of the holes and the assembly of joints and joints in the joints and pillars, and the end of the life of the system.
